‘During any minute of any day it is possible for you to decide to change your choices and thus change your results'
There is no mystery in comfort, there are no adventures, no challenges beyond survival, no requirements beyond the known, no variety beyond misfortune, no newness beyond consistency, no progress beyond immediate gratification, and no demands beyond the daily immersion in the ‘rat race’. Comfort zones generally represent the death of learning because learning takes you into mysterious places; it takes you to the edge of your known and is suggestive of undetermined outcomes.
Although uncertainty leads to variety, for most people uncertainty is scary because it requires the successful navigation of the unfamiliar.
Some people resist learning at all costs. If you examine the behaviour of successful people, whether they are in sport, business, charity, health or any personal endeavour, you will notice that underpinning their successes are three things.
Success in the creation of wealth requires exactly the same three elements, and yet, society’s conditioning processes makes sure these are in short supply. With the exception of the miniscule number of people who inherit or win wealth, in the majority of cases wealthy people begin their journeys with a strong desire to change their present circumstances. More often than not change happens in response to some defining moment in their lives where they say: ‘Enough is enough!’ They become tired of living their lives on a financial merry-go-round and they make decisions to change.
Even though they don’t fully understand the journey ahead of them, they have enough courage and determination to make a decision and
begin a journey towards wealth and freedom. Despite the fact that forward movement is an uncertain activity, they begin their
journey with a decision born of passion, born of a will to succeed and an unshakeable belief that they will.
