Importance of Commitment

If you want to change then now is the time.

Whether or not you seriously commit yourself to a journey of wealth will largely depend on your answers to the following questions. Are your financial results based on appreciation of your efforts, qualitative self-directed choices, personal satisfaction, financial abundance, free time, the pursuit of meaning and the rewards of happiness? Or are your thoughts and time controlled by the activity of work? Does work amount to little more than financial survival from one week to the next and from one year to the next? Have you learned that the only thing you have to sell is your capacity to labour? Have you learned to remain trapped by the wage system?

Who Controls Your Time?

Do the captains of industry control your time or can you direct your time into areas of self-interest whenever you want? Is your time controlled by the activity you do in order to earn the money to pay the bills? Is what you do largely based on necessity rather than choice? If you keep doing what you are doing, do you feel certain that your financial future is assured? As opposed to a means to an end, is what you do an end in itself ? If you were given a choice, and money wasn’t a problem, would you continue to live life exactly as you do now?

Eighteen Months To Live.

If you had to visit a doctor for some reason and the news was not good; in fact you were only given eighteen months to live, would your current activities seem as important to you or would you change things immediately? If you were given eighteen months to live, would you have time to complete all those ‘projects’ you have stored in your heart and mind for years? If your number came up tomorrow, would you depart this world having lived a satisfied and fulfilled life of meaning? If, via a near death experience, you were given another chance at life, would you continue to do what you do now?

Your answers to these questions will either motivate you towards progress or they will keep you firmly entrenched where you are. You will either be motivated towards change or you will securely embrace the status quo and continue to wish for better financial circumstances. If you do not invest in yourself, and believe you can make a difference, your only alternative is to continue to invest in conventional wisdom and watch as your potential to financial freedom diminishes over time.

What will your future bring if you remain where you are? If you would change things immediately you must consider that what you are doing is not fulfilling you. Unless you have a well thought plan and you are using strategies designed to produce a rewarding future, what you are doing may just be filling in time until society has no more use for you. If you do not change now, how are you ever going to give your life meaning beyond your capacity to labour?

No Time Like The Present

If you want to change to a more meaningful future there is no time like the present to begin your journey. If you have enough courage and determination, like me, you can become totally financially free in a relatively short period of time. When I started out I did not know where I was headed. All I knew was that I did not want to live in the ‘rat race’ anymore. I simply began by asking better questions and looking for ways to break free and escape the maze.

Learning provided the tools I needed. If you want to change then now is the time.
