A big move up overnight after an HP long signal on 20 Feb saw prices burst through the upper resistance of the horizontal channel and almost take my SE order.

Hello everyone

I've had a week or two where gas hasn't been a priority for me. I'm starting to look at it again but find myself a bit uncertain of how to approach reading the charts. Now that I am aware of so many different indicators and patterns, how do I chose which ones are more important that others? So my question is what is your process when this happens to you? How do you start to unravel the charts to understand what's going on after a break away?

Gold (2nd MACD bar): essential predictors = 2; total = 10

Silver (MACD crossover, no MACD bar): essentials = 1 (or ?weak 2) ; total = 11 or ?12

Is a Platinum HP in the Offering?

Platinum looks to be giving some encouragement to a HP move in the not too distant future. So keep an eye on your check list scores and make sure you update them on a daily basis.

I think the pattern is telling me that sideways movement is the preferred direction at the moment, but when it changes... it might be a potentially good move.

What to do with Silver?

Silver's bumping up against that resistance level again at $14.80. Its highly unusual that gold and silver travel in opposite directions so perhaps gold will drag it higher.

We'll have to wait and see.

However, I do have a triangle pattern in Silver at the moment and price action is very near the breakout area, so watch this action closely over the next week or so. The Parabolic is very close to flipping over from bottom to top and if it does, its suggesting weakness.

Gold Breakout

Gold has closed approx $10 above resistance ans as such this must be considered to be a breakout so I hope you all had bracketing strategies in place to capture this move.

If not, here's some possibilities. Look for price action to come back a bit and test the breakout line for support before moving higher. Alternatively, the fall in the S&P might have caught people off guard and when they re-focus after Christmas, a bit of fear might enter their decision making.

This has the potential to send gold higher as a fear response. There's a congestion area around 1295 to 1305... so take this into consideration with your decision making.

S&P Where will it find support?

The next support level for the S&P looks to be around 2354. It will be interesting to see what happens after that but my hunch is a significant bounce.
